M&B Flagships Sells 1500 Pints Of Budvar A Week
July 2010

In February of this year M & B flagship pub, the White Horse at London’s Parsons Green, installed draught Budweiser Budvar Original. Until that time Budvar had been represented at the top hostelry by bottled Dark and Original, the outlets top selling bottled beers. The arrival of draught however has seen Budvar sales really soar away and according to White Horse Bar and Purchasing Manager, Ben Lockwood, over the past three months, economic depression and all, draught sales have been averaging 1,500 pints a week.

Interestingly the arrival of draught has in no way cannibalised bottle sales. “We have discovered there are two different types of Budvar drinker” says Lockwood. “Bottle people tend to prefer their beer with food, particularly Budvar Dark, whilst the draught drinker finds satisfaction in the beer alone. And it seems never the twain shall meet”

“The White Horse team must be congratulated on the way they have developed sales of our beer here” says Joe Laventure, On Trade National Account Director of Budweiser Budvar. “ It just goes to show that even in times like these stocking  a high end product like ours pays off over and over again”.

To mark their success with Budvar sales the team at the White Horse have become the first members of the Budweiser Budvar 1500 Club and Joe Laventure is pictured here after presenting the first-off-the-line 1500 Club T shirt  to  Ben Lockwood.
